Wind-up Round-Ups |
Round-up those UFOs and wind them up here at the Quilt Corral Too. Meet your friends and sewing buddies for an evening of sewing fun in our classroom. Work on a project that has been lurking unfinished in your sewing room. Quilt Corral Cowgirl Della Harty will be on-hand as your hostess with sewing and quilting expertise to turn those UFOs into finished treasures. |

Math for the creative mind just about sums up (pun intended) what this fun group is all about. Sew on projects of your choosing and at 7:00 p.m. get a lesson in applied quilting mathematics! Each month Becky Umenthum, an eighth grade math teacher for the Rapid City School District and experienced quilter, will unlick the secrets of quilting calculations in a simple to follow format. Subjects to be covered in the next year include resizing a block, calculating yardage, upsizing or downsizing an existing pattern, and proportional math. Learn techniques to simplify cutting and save yardage too! |

Learn what tools are essential for today's quilter and how to use them correctly. Gain knowledge of how to measure and cut accurately. Quilter's etiquette will also be discussed. This is the class to take before you take your first "beginner's class." |
